International Research Presentation and Knowledge Sharing on the Utilization of Yellowtail Viscera for Bioactive Protein Hydrolysate Production
International Conference Experience
The international conference was held at Universitas Muhammadiyah Gresik, Indonesia, on August 20th–21st, 2026, and was conducted in a hybrid format, allowing researchers and invited speakers to participate both in person and online.
During the conference, I had the opportunity to present my doctoral research on the utilization of Yellowtail (Seriola quinqueradiata) viscera to produce bioactive protein hydrolysates. The presentation provided an opportunity to introduce my research conducted at the Prefectural University of Hiroshima (PUH) to an international academic audience and to receive questions, feedback, and suggestions from researchers and other participants.
The conference also provided a valuable opportunity to interact with researchers and participants from different academic backgrounds. Through these discussions, I gained new perspectives on food science, the utilization of fisheries by-products, and potential approaches for further developing my research.
I was also very grateful to receive the Best Presenter Award for my presentation. This achievement was a meaningful recognition of my research efforts and provided additional motivation to further develop my doctoral research at PUH.
Knowledge Sharing at Universitas Muhammadiyah Jember
Following the international conference, I returned to Jember and held a knowledge-sharing session at Universitas Muhammadiyah Jember on August 24th, 2026. The session was attended by selected final-year students with an interest in food science and a good command of English and to fellow lecturers. I introduced my doctoral research at the Prefectural University of Hiroshima (PUH) and shared my experiences in conducting research and participating in an international conference.
For the students, the session provided an opportunity to learn about research activities in Japan and to gain a broader perspective on international academic opportunities. For fellow lecturers, it also provided an opportunity to exchange ideas regarding research and higher education between Japan and Indonesia.
Beyond sharing research findings, I was pleased to use this opportunity to share part of my academic experience at PUH with students and colleagues in Indonesia. I hope that activities such as this can contribute to strengthening academic exchange between Japan and Indonesia and encourage students and researchers to explore future opportunities for international study, research, and collaboration.
